The Art of Gustave Baumann 2004 Deluxe Wall Calendar
The Art of Gustave Baumann 2004 Deluxe Wall Calendar
For more than fifty years, Gustave Baumann (1881–1971) captured the crystalline light and rich, soft colors of the Southwest with grace and subtlety. He worked in gouache and watercolor, but his principal medium was the woodcut. His images betray none of the hard and lengthy experimental work that underlies them (Baumann's prints often ran to seven colors). This calendar's images reveal the affectionate celebration of place by an artist who never lost his awe of the natural grandeur of his surroundings. The calendar lists international holidays as well as moon phases.
