Ghost Dance by JD Challenger 2004 Wall Calendar
In the late 1800s, the Ghost Dance religion promised hope and resurrection for the future at a time when Native American nations across America faced destruction. Misunderstood by authorities, the Ghost Dance led to the savage attack on Sioux men, women, and children at Wounded Knee in 1890. In his paintings, JD Challenger revives the spirit in Ghost Dance, bringing new life to warrior faces and renewing the bonds of strength and dignity linking Native Americans to their history. The calendar lists U.S., U.K. and Canadian holidays as well as moon phases.
