Thomas; the Louisiana Native Guard (first all-black Civil War regiment); Dr. Johnetta Cole, president of Bennett College; Olympic gold medallist Mal Whitfield; scholar, actor, singer, athlete, lawyer Paul Robeson; aviator Hubert Fauntleroy Julian; St. Josephine Bakhita; and 1996 protestors against the CIA. Each portrait includes an informed biography; milestones and birthdays in black history are noted for each day of the year. The calendar lists international holidays as well as moon phases.
